Hailing from More Tau, Gavlet Gablae first surfaces among bandits roaming Koam's wastelands. Following the death of leader Miyama Lilin, he takes command of the group. His driving ambition is joining the Poseidal military, achieved by securing a recommendation from powerful arms dealer Amandara Kamandara. This entry places him under Elite 13 member Chai Char.
Gavlet's fierce rivalry with protagonist Daba Myroad ignites during their initial meeting on Koam over food and the fairy Lillith Fuau. This rivalry defines him, compelling Gavlet to pursue Daba relentlessly across the Pentagona system. Despite his military position and access to increasingly potent Heavy Metals, notably the Bat Shu with its Buster Launcher, Gavlet consistently fails to defeat Daba in combat. These repeated failures and occasional comedic mishaps cement his role as a recurring, misfortune-plagued antagonist.
Rising through Poseidal's ranks, Gavlet achieves Elite 13 membership and command of the space vessel Slender Skala. He engages in multiple military campaigns against rebels, including assaults on Mizum and pursuits across space. Yet, his combat focus remains fixed on confronting Daba, engagements that often end in setbacks or tactical withdrawals.
A pivotal shift occurs when Gavlet encounters Quwasan Olibee, Daba’s brainwashed half-sister and a high-ranking Poseidal figure. He develops intense feelings for her, ultimately motivating his defection from the military. This emotional attachment supersedes his long-standing rivalry, leading him to ally with Daba and the rebellion during the climactic assault on Poseidal’s capital, Sveto, on Gastogal. His new primary goal becomes protecting Olibee, held captive by the rebellious Elite 13 leader Giwaza Lowau.
In the final battle, Gavlet aids Daba in boarding Giwaza’s ship to rescue Olibee, directly confronting Giwaza to secure her freedom. Following her rescue and the Poseidal Empire's collapse, he participates in the decisive battle against the true Poseidal, Amandara Kamandara, piloting the formidable Original Auge. Gavlet provides crucial support to Daba, contributing to Amandara's defeat. After the conflict, he bids farewell to Daba, who remains on Koam caring for the brain-damaged Olibee.
Gavlet Gablae possesses a tall stature (210 cm), blue-black hair, and blue eyes. His personality blends stubborn determination—in pursuing military advancement or defeating Daba—with a capacity for profound emotional attachment, demonstrated by his devotion to Olibee. This duality propels his evolution from rivalrous antagonist to reluctant ally in the rebellion's final struggle.
