Description
Tou Eigetsu, a thirteen-year-old prodigy ascending to government office, carries a fractured identity forged by supernatural forces. Born into destitution, he narrowly escaped filicide during a famine before physician Ka Shin rescued him. After surviving a village-ravaging plague that shattered his medical aspirations, Eigetsu pivoted to politics, aiming to establish a sanctuary for healthcare. By twelve, he aced provincial exams; by thirteen, he broke records as the youngest imperial examinee to earn top honors and the Jougen title.

His life intertwines with Yougetsu, an alternate persona embodying the White Immortal Haku Byakuya, who surfaces when Eigetsu drinks. Yougetsu’s tactical brilliance and combat prowess contrast Eigetsu’s restraint, their bond sealed by a contract extending Eigetsu’s life twenty years in exchange for eventual self-erasure. This fragile pact unraveled further when Eigetsu sacrificed a decade to prolong Ka Shin’s life, leaving him a month to live during Sa Province’s epidemic.

As co-governor of Sa Province alongside Kou Shuurei, Eigetsu confronted political strife and a lethal plague mirroring his childhood trauma. Defying his dwindling time, he plunged into infected zones to aid victims, revealing his selfless core. Amid the crisis, he confessed feelings for Kourin, Sa Enjun’s granddaughter, and unmasked Hyou Ren, a Hyou clan infiltrator posing as Ka Shin. When death loomed, Yougetsu ceded control, gifting Eigetsu fifty more years—a reprieve marred by demotion to assistant under governor Kai Yu.

Eigetsu’s humility and resilience clash with Yougetsu’s calculated ruthlessness, their duality marked by physical shifts: green hair dulling to white, eyes sharpening to slits during transitions. Though revered for intellect, Eigetsu grappled with insecurity, haunted by others’ favor for Yougetsu’s efficacy. His bonds with Shuurei, Kourin, and Ka Shin underscored a relentless drive to prioritize collective welfare over personal survival, even post-demotion, as seen when he combated Heki Province’s locust outbreak.

His journey closed ambiguously—Yougetsu’s intervention stretched his lifespan yet tethered his fate to the immortal’s shadow, leaving him suspended between mortal ambitions and eternal influence.
