Description
Katsumi Liqueur, daughter of Project Gaia leader Gigelf Liqueur—a powerful sorcerer—and Fuyuka Liqueur—a former television news reporter who awakened magical abilities—faces tragedy when her father’s 1999 attempt to open a dimensional gate to Nemesis unleashes a Lucifer Hawk invasion, indirectly killing both parents. Orphaned, she inherits immense magic from her lineage, including distant Lucifer Hawk ancestry through Gigelf, fueling internal conflict between her power and her duty to fight these entities.

In "The Motion Picture 2" continuity, she rejects her protector destiny after her mother’s death, attempting to flee Japan for Hawaii despite AMP recruitment pleas. Associating her powers with her parents’ fate, she discards a protective talisman and isolates herself, wandering emotionally hollow through past-linked sites like her childhood home and Tokyo Bay’s ruined bridge. Her vulnerability attracts two Lucifer Hawks disguised as humans, who capture her to exploit her inherited power for reopening a sealed dimensional gateway and freeing their kin.

Her resolve crystallizes when AMP officers Kiddy Phenil and Nami Yamigumo face mortal danger from a Lucifer Hawk during the bridge confrontation. Witnessing their peril forces Katsumi to embrace her responsibility. She activates her magic for the first time, defeats the entity, and saves her future teammates, accepting her AMP role. Her bond with Yuki Saiko—who foresaw their friendship—solidifies, and both formally join AMP afterward.

Beyond the films, manga and anime elements expand her story: She wields Grospoliner, her father’s sentient "Emperor of Swords," bonding with it. Her personality merges gentleness with harsh, sometimes reckless battle determination. Early AMP struggles with trust and isolation give way to close friendships, notably with Kiddy Phenil, and a romance with police officer Roy De Vice. Roy’s murder by antagonist Ganossa Maximilian triggers her emotional collapse. This loss, compounded by heritage anguish, corrupts her temporarily via the evil sentient sword Medium, leading her to betray AMP and ally with Ganossa.

Her arc progresses through redemption and AMP reintegration. In the anime continuity, she later carries Roy’s child. Her Hermetic magic manifests as instant runes and energy blasts. Throughout her Tokyo guardianship, her Lucifer Hawk ancestry perpetuates internal conflict, relentlessly shaping her motivations and actions.
