Scorpio Milo guards the eighth temple in Athena's Sanctuary, clad in the Scorpio Gold Cloth. His character embodies a complex mix of pride, honor, and strategic insight across multiple narratives.
Milo attained Gold Saint status exceptionally early, receiving the Scorpio Cloth by age seven, establishing his formidable reputation. He fiercely upholds the dignity of the Gold Saints, often defending their collective honor. He typically offers opponents a chance to surrender before employing his signature Scarlet Needle technique. This technique inflicts escalating, excruciating neurological torment through precise strikes at vital points corresponding to Scorpio's stars, reflecting his combat ethics, though he remains direct and impulsive in expressing his views. He acknowledges defeat when bested, as when he conceded to Cygnus Hyoga after the Bronze Saint's Aurora Thunder Attack froze critical points of his Gold Cloth. Following this Sanctuary battle, Milo used his own blood to repair Hyoga's damaged Cygnus Cloth as an act of atonement.
During the Hades arc's "Inferno" chapter, Milo participates in strategic discussions with Athena concerning the Underworld threat.
Beyond the main saga, Milo appears in spin-offs. "Episode G" depicts a younger, more aggressive and resentful Milo, particularly toward Leo Aiolia due to Aiolos's perceived betrayal. This version matures through battles, including his confrontation with the revived Trojan hero Hector and the Titans. He collaborates with allies like Aquarius Camus; their teamwork against the giant Margarites Drakon, using combined strategies such as Camus's Ice Coffin to enable Milo's Scarlet Needle, further develops their friendship.
"Saintia Shō" depicts Milo years before the main events. He rescues Equuleus Shō from danger and later volunteers to infiltrate Graad Academy, investigating disappearances linked to the goddess Eris. There, he protects a student named Lucas from Specters, revealing his Saint identity. His investigation leads him to battle Eris's subordinates, including the dryad Ate and the renegade Silver Saint Rigel, exploring themes of justice and sacrifice.
"Soul of Gold" portrays Milo after the Hades arc. Revived in Asgard alongside fellow Gold Saints, he seeks answers about their resurrection while confronting the God Warriors serving the corrupted Odin representative, Andreas. His journey culminates in a sacrificial act: using a golden dagger empowered by his awakened God Cloth to destroy one of Yggdrasil's roots, directly contributing to Asgard's liberation.
Milo's combat techniques remain consistent. His primary offensive skill, Scarlet Needle, involves fifteen progressively debilitating strikes, with the final blow, Antares, typically fatal. He also employs Restriction, a psychokinetic ability immobilizing opponents. His name references both the Greek island of Milos and Milo of Croton, the legendary wrestler whose fate bears thematic resemblance to narrative elements involving Gemini Kanon.
