Description
Thirteen-year-old Akane Kimidori enters as a rebellious Penguin Village Junior High student, initially annoyed when Arale Norimaki becomes her desk partner and follows her after school. Witnessing Arale's strength alongside cousins Taro and Peasuke Soramame shifts her attitude, forging mutual respect and cementing their friendship. Akane emerges as Arale’s closest companion and self-appointed manager, founding the Sukeban Deka Fan Club and charging admission for students to showcase clubs to Arale.

Characterized by her tomboyish rule-breaking streak, Akane orchestrates pranks targeting villagers, especially Senbei Norimaki, whom she deems a bad influence on Arale. Despite poor academics, she demonstrates notable cunning and strategic thinking, devising elaborate plans that deceive Penguin Village residents. Her short temper triggers aggressive outbursts when provoked, and she initially carries liquor to school—a habit fading as the series progresses. She harbors dislikes for caterpillars and peppers, listing the Cobra Twist wrestling move as her signature talent.

Her family centers on the Coffee Pot café run by her gentle older sister Aoi Kimidori, contrasting Akane’s rebelliousness. Akane’s personal journey includes a romantic relationship with Tsukutsun Tsun, beginning during the series and culminating in marriage. A Future Camera glimpse confirms their union ten years later, showing Akane at ages 23 and 73, indicating a long life. Her design changed in the 1997 "Doctor Slump" remake, transitioning from blonde hair with blue eyes to brunette hair matching Aoi’s, with yellow eyes.

Beyond her series, Akane appears in Dragon Ball crossovers. Born in Age 732, she interacts with Goku during the Red Ribbon Army Saga, attempting to ride the Flying Nimbus but facing rejection due to her impure heart. She resurfaces in "Dragon Ball Super" (Episode 69) when Arale crashes into the Coffee Pot, retaining her adolescent appearance despite being approximately 49. She features in "Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission" alongside Taro and Peasuke during a tournament. Dragon Ball Z’s events affect her existence; she dies at age 43 during Earth’s destruction but revives alongside others via the Namekian Dragon Balls.

Trivia notes her parallels with Dragon Ball’s Bulma, sharing personality traits, initial annoyance with the protagonist (Arale/Goku), a relationship resembling Bulma’s with Yamcha, and a fondness for scooters or motorcycles. She appears in merchandise like a 1998 Carddass trading card and a GU clothing live-action commercial, portrayed by Yuki Uchida.
