Description
Yae Kayama, firstborn twin and rightful heir to Doll Land’s throne, abandoned her royal destiny after a forbidden romance with Rui’s grandfather in the human realm. Though compelled to return home, she left behind the Calling Ring as a token of their bond. Consumed by heartbreak, she ceded her crown to younger sister Nanae yet retained influence as a trusted advisor. Decades later, her niece Orie mirrored Yae’s transgression by loving human Pierre, prompting Yae to consult Doll Land’s owl deity for counsel. Instead, she fell prey to demon king Devaul’s possession, morphing from sorrowful exile to merciless despot.

Under Devaul’s sway, Yae usurped power, branded Orie unworthy of rule, and warped Doll Land into a hellscape. She petrified dissenters, dispatched agents like Scarecrow to hunt Orie’s daughter Licca—the realm’s true heir—and conjured the capricious enforcer Misty. Ruthlessly pragmatic, Yae manipulated Doll Isamu by seizing his Calling Ring, bending him to her will until his rebellion. She callously discarded Scarecrow and absorbed Misty’s magic after the latter’s failures, her tyranny pushing Doll Land toward collapse without a crowned heir.

In *Licca-chan Zettai Zetsumei! Doll Knights no Kiseki*, Yae resurrected witch Dana to ambush Licca at a human-world amusement park, cementing her role as Licca’s primary adversary. Devaul’s eventual downfall shattered his hold on Yae, reviving her innate compassion. Restored, she abdicated to Licca and reconciled with Nanae, transitioning from bitter Cain-and-Abel rivalry to sisterly solidarity. Once a star-crossed lover and later a demonic puppet, Yae’s legacy intertwines tragedy, corruption, and eventual atonement, framing her as a pivotal, multifaceted figure in Doll Land’s fate.
