Under her leadership, however, Halcon descended into fanatical obsession with mind control technology, prompting Poseidon to terminate the project. To conceal their involvement, Poseidon staged Elizabeth Xander's fatal accident and dissolved Halcon.

Her colleague Richard Kestner and other Halcon members covertly resurrected her as a cyborg. Rebuilt, she became the central component of Kestner's plan to forcibly unify humanity by erasing individual thought through technological enslavement. Her cybernetic form was repurposed as the control signal hub for the Halcon system, designed to override free will globally. This system exploited the ubiquitous Connexus multimedia devices, which contained hidden biochips capable of seizing control of humans and cyborgs upon activation. Kestner intended to use her modified consciousness to broadcast a unifying signal via satellites, merging all connected individuals into a single collective consciousness under Halcon's command.

During the climax in Olympus, Deunan Knute, Briareos Hecatonchires, and Tereus located Elizabeth Xander within the Halcon control fortress. Briefly freed from Halcon's control via a neural antidote, she regained momentary agency. Recognizing the imperative to permanently stop the system and prevent further manipulation, she instructed Deunan to destroy her physical form. This act severed the global control signal, freeing the enthralled population and collapsing the fortress. Her final directive resulted in her physical destruction, terminating the Halcon threat.
