Description
Manuel Aeacus is a colleague in the Olympus counter-terrorism unit ESWAT. He bears partial cybernetic augmentation, mainly on the left side of his head, featuring bionic auditory and visual implants necessitated by significant trauma. This limited modification sets him apart from more extensively augmented cyborgs, leaving a greater portion of his biological systems intact.

Aeacus forms a collegial bond with Briareos Hecatonchires, evident during shared activities like target practice. During one session, he references having a young daughter. Both wear matching Connexus devices, neural-linked technology projecting holographic interfaces that symbolize their connection. Aeacus engages in light-hearted banter, notably teasing Briareos about the audible ticking of an analog watch during operations.

At an international security conference in Olympus, Aeacus falls victim to external technological manipulation. A rogue neural signal, later traced to robotic doves and the Halcon network, overrides his autonomy. Compromised, he assassinates an engineer aboard an ESWAT transport vessel, declares allegiance to Halcon's assimilation ideology ("We will all be one. I am Halcon"), and attacks the conference using a heavily armed flight-capable Land-Mate exoskeleton. Briareos responds, engages Aeacus in aerial combat, and neutralizes him to halt the assault.

Aeacus receives a formal military funeral attended by ESWAT personnel and civilians. The ceremony includes his grieving widow and young son, the latter seen imitating the ESWAT salute. Posthumous ESWAT analysis links his actions to Halcon’s broader scheme of neural hijacking via the Connexus network and satellite systems, concluding his betrayal resulted from involuntary victimization, not ideological alignment.
