She first encounters Akira Inugami while intoxicated, witnessing him attacked by thugs. After fainting, she awakens to find the attackers dead, dismissing the event as a dream. Recognizing Inugami as a new transfer student in her class, she becomes obsessed with proving he is a werewolf, investigating his past.

Her relationship with Inugami evolves from professional concern to deep romantic attachment despite the student-teacher dynamic, intensifying after he rescues her multiple times from violence. She becomes his primary moral anchor, a connection exploited by antagonist Haguro. Her kidnapping by Haguro serves as bait for Inugami, leading to prolonged captivity involving repeated gang rapes, deliberately recorded and disseminated online to torment Inugami and break her psychologically.

Rescued by Inugami—who suffers near-fatal injuries—she is hospitalized and learns of his apparent death, plunging her into severe depression marked by malnutrition and suicide attempts. One attempt, halted by a wolf resembling Inugami appearing as she stood on a hospital terrace, reignites her will to live. Though the wolf was later identified as Akira Jin, she requests relocation to Alaska, where Inugami was raised.

In Alaska, she recovers physically and emotionally, gaining acceptance from the local wolf pack and developing the ability to identify individual wolves. Her connection to the natural world deepens, and she begins to smile again. During this time, she senses Inugami's resurgence despite his captivity. This culminates in her and the wolves responding to a distant howl, implying a spiritual reunion.
