Description
Facing terminal illness, Prof. Simon Wright had his brain transplanted into a specialized mechanical life-support case by his close colleague and friend, Roger Newton. This container integrates optical and acoustic sensors for vision and hearing, a speech processor for communication, and tractor beams enabling mobility, including operation in vacuum environments like space.

After criminals murdered Roger Newton and his wife Elaine, Wright became primary guardian to their infant son, Curtis. He raised the boy alongside the artificial beings Grag (a robot) and Otho (an android), both previously created by Wright and Newton, within their lunar laboratory complex.

Within the Futuremen team, Wright serves as Captain Future's scientific advisor and closest confidant. His extensive knowledge, particularly in cybernetics and other sciences, proves instrumental in solving complex cases and confronting adversaries across the solar system throughout their missions.

His mechanical container underwent development. Initially depicted as requiring physical transport, it was later equipped with integrated flight capability. The animated adaptation features this flight functionality from his first appearance.

Visually, the animated portrayal presents his brain within a transparent dome, often blue-tinted, contrasting with the original literary description of a cubic case and realistic pink tissue coloration. The container includes sensory apparatus resembling eyes and utilizes flexible tubes extending from its rear.

Wright maintains distinct relationships with the other Futuremen. He shares a creator-based bond with Grag and Otho. With Captain Future, the relationship combines deep mentorship, paternal influence, and unwavering scientific partnership during their endeavors.
