Kiyoshi Kawakubo was a Japanese voice actor born on November 18, 1929, in Yokohama, Japan. He was active in the industry from 1952 until his passing on April 16, 2019, and was affiliated with the talent agency 81 Produce at the end of his career.
Kawakubo had a prolific career spanning several decades, providing voices for a wide array of characters in anime television series, original video animations, films, and video games. He was also extensively involved in dubbing foreign films and television series into Japanese. His notable anime roles included Guame in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Kevin Yeegar in D.Gray-man, Quincy in Bubblegum Crisis, Grospoliner in Silent Möbius, and Lord Haizen in Slayers Great. He also took on smaller roles in long-running and influential series such as Cyborg 009, Kimba the White Lion, Trigun, Paranoia Agent, and Salaryman Kintaro. In the series Captain Future Kareinaru Taiyokei Race, he was part of the main cast.
