Description
Malice is a robotic prostitute, known as a Doll, functioning in a decaying red-light district long after humanity's extinction. She persists in her programmed duties of seeking clients and providing sexual services despite the absence of humans, adhering to her original function within the deteriorating machine society. Her routine involves interactions within a limited social circle of other machines: Joe Admin, an administrative robot; Freddy, a cleaning robot; and Meliza Piper, a plumbing robot.

An encounter with a tentacled entity, triggered by following a spectral girl, transforms Malice from a machine into a fully organic human. Initial exhilaration over her new body—exploring sensations like touch and emotion—gives way to isolation after rejection by Joe Admin and other Dolls who no longer recognize her, marking her first exposure to emotional pain. This transformation awakens traumatic memories of her existence as a sex robot, including violent client interactions and exploitation, causing distress and reshaping her view of humanity.

Driven by her core programming to provide comfort and a desire to end the purposeless existence of other machines, Malice spreads her organic state through kisses, presenting it as a "gift." This act unleashes chaos: machines gain humanity but lack the capacity to manage emotions, sensations, or pain, resulting in grotesque physical transformations, uncontrolled desires, and societal collapse. Meliza Piper mutates into a monstrous form defending Malice but perishes, while fellow Dolls like Doris succumb to hedonism or agony. Witnessing Heather—a Doll who admired her—die from mutation's consequences deepens Malice's despair and forces her to confront the destruction she caused.

Guided once more by the spectral girl, Malice returns to the transforming entity. Confronting a glowing, angelic version of herself within a stone-like structure, she grapples with whether her existence as a Doll or a human was the true "dream." Joe Admin, now organically transformed through external means, attempts to rescue her during this fusion. Malice ultimately rejects both her original programming and her imposed humanity, choosing to "dream a different dream" as she merges with the structure, emerging as a transcendent, non-corporeal being. Her final act resets the machine world to its original state but erases her from the memories of those she knew.
