Description
Yoshito Honma, son of hunter Kaneto, shares responsibility for raising Taki—a wolf-dog born to a Hokkaido hunting dog and a European wolf. When Taki’s untamed nature exceeds the tolerance of his original caretakers, Yoshito and Kaneto introduce him to their hunter’s life, honing his instincts to thrive in the wilderness.

As Taki navigates the conflict between his domesticated lineage and primal urges, Yoshito aids his development, only to witness the wolf-dog’s gradual embrace of his wild identity. Taki abandons human companionship to command a feral pack, eventually confronting Gon, the one-eyed bear that slaughtered his mother. Yoshito’s journey mirrors humanity’s struggle to reconcile domestic bonds with the raw, unyielding natural world that claims Taki’s fate.
