Luna's father raised her alone on Mars after her mother died. He salvaged a robotic cat named Chako from a scrapyard, saving it from smelting, and meticulously rebuilt the robot as a gift for his daughter. Though Luna initially disliked Chako, her father's thoughtful gesture ultimately forged a deep bond between Luna and the machine. He tragically died during an accident on Mars when Luna was eight years old. Faced with imminent danger to Luna, he secured her within an escape capsule to ensure her survival. This heroic act cost him his life in the ensuing explosion. Luna later carried his backpack as a cherished memento of their connection. His death resulted in Luna receiving a scholarship from the Howard Foundation, facilitating her relocation to Colony Loca-A2 alongside Chako.
