Hatsumi knows Eiri Kurahashi well, acting as his primary doctor during episodes of intense psychological and physical distress. Her medical training grounds her perspective in science; she insists to Eiri that his escalating hallucinations have no identifiable physical cause. This rational stance contrasts sharply with supernatural explanations for his suffering. Hatsumi holds Eiri in high regard and shows deep concern for his welfare, especially when he vanishes. Her worry escalates further when Shoko Mataki's soul becomes displaced, an event Hatsumi cannot comprehend through medical science.
