Description
Ryōya Misato enters Sōshūkan High School as both a first-year student and the immediate ace of the men's rhythmic gymnastics team. His early skill was proven by placing second in the 37th Men's Junior Tournament during junior high, securing his reputation upon joining Ao High's club.

Hailing from Miyagi Prefecture, he discovered rhythmic gymnastics through a video of Coach Shūsaku Shida’s high school performance, sparking years of dedicated training that honed his competitive edge before enrollment. At Natori Fourth Junior High, he was teammates with Mashiro Tsukiyuki until a practice accident severely injured a teammate, leaving Ryōya hesitant about the involved stunt.

He selected Ao High over prestigious Shiro High—Mashiro’s school—after witnessing Ao’s four-member team excel despite roster constraints at the Interhigh Tournament. His childhood admiration for Coach Shida also influenced this choice. Initially commuting due to personal obligations, Ryōya caused mild friction until moving into team dorms as competitions advanced beyond prefectural levels.

Outwardly calm and stoic, Ryōya often appears distant, speaking monotonously with neutral expressions. This masks his earnest, observant nature. As a gymnast, he exhibits disciplined precision, analyzing routines meticulously. He teaches teammates—especially Shotaro Futaba—with strict expectations, bluntly distinguishing between Mashiro’s prodigious talent and Shotaro’s hard-earned potential.

Reserved yet loyal, Ryōya deepened bonds with seniors by defending his Ao High choice to Shiro High members. Shopping with his aunt Sako-chan revealed his capacity for embarrassment and social awkwardness, softening his composed exterior. Unresolved rivalry with Mashiro surfaced during a joint training camp confrontation about their diverging paths.

Ryōya impresses teammates like Kōtarō Watari with exceptional household management and cooking skills. His daily routine reflects rigorous athletic discipline. Gradually, he learns to rely more openly on teammates as they pursue collective goals.
