Description
Ken Tenku is the primary pilot of the Gekiga Jet within the three-member team operating the combining super robot Gekiganger III, constructed from ancient schematics left by the Super Paleolithic civilization to combat the alien Kyo'akk Empire's invasion. As the central heroic figure, he embodies idealism, courage, and hot-blooded determination, leading Earth's defense alongside teammates Joe Umitsubame and Akira Daichi.
During combination sequences, Ken initiates the transformation with the command "Let's Gekiga In!" The Gekiga Jet forms distinct sections across configurations: head and torso in the aerial-focused Gekiganger III, legs in the aquatic Umiganger, and waist in the land-based Rikuganger. He executes signature attacks including the Gekigan Punch rocket punch, Gekigan Sword energy blade, and Gekigan Flare charged flaming punch, often calling out their names.
Ken maintains a romantic relationship with Nanako Kokubunji, daughter of Gekiganger III's creator Professor Kokubunji, despite Joe's unrequited feelings for her. He also attracts the affection of enemy pilot Aquamarine after she develops amnesia from a crash.
His development pivots on key events: Joe’s death against General Masaka tests Ken’s resolve, leading to the original robot’s destruction and its replacement by the upgraded Gekiganger V, piloted by Ken, Akira, and new recruit Tetsuya Ryuuzaki. In the finale, Ken battles Emperor Hyperion using the Spaceganger upgrade. The original Gekiganger III unexpectedly returns, piloted by the resurrected Joe, enabling their joint Double Gekigan Fire attack to defeat Hyperion.
