Description
Cha Genmai, an aged mentor, rescued and raised Kenichi Kokuhō after the boy became lost in the mountains as a child. Acting as both guardian and teacher, he imparted rigorous training in Cha Genmai Style Karate during Kenichi’s formative years in the wilderness, forging the youth’s physical prowess and mental resilience through disciplined practice.

When Kenichi turned 15, Cha Genmai disclosed the truth of his origins, compelling the teenager to reintegrate into urban life. His influence endures as the cornerstone of Kenichi’s core values and martial foundation, though the mentor’s personal history remains shrouded in mystery.

A wolf companion named Flipper—distinct for its cat-like facial features—accompanied the pair during their mountain seclusion. Following Kenichi’s reunion with his biological family, Flipper adapted to domestic life within the Kokuhō household.

Cha Genmai’s narrative presence is anchored exclusively to Kenichi’s early upbringing and training. His interactions with other characters, including Kenichi’s siblings or peers, are not detailed, and official sources do not expand upon his story beyond these established elements.
