Description
Kikuhime, known as Samantha in English translations, is a recurring character introduced in Medarot 2 as the leader of the bully trio The Screws. She routinely leverages her robattling prowess and subordinates to intimidate students, especially protagonists like Ikki Tenryou. Her defining trait as a sore loser manifests through inventing conditions to invalidate defeats or fleeing battles.

Her signature Medabot is the agile CAT-type Peppercat, though she later commands others including Redscarleth, Noctocat, Sprytooth, and Darkpanther across different games. In Medarot 2 and its remake, she confronts Ikki early, deploying Screws members Kagamiyama (Sloan) and Iwanoi (Spyke) for coordinated group attacks. After losses, she dismisses outcomes and demands rematches under altered rules like simultaneous three-on-one robattles. During Medarot R, she vandalizes a school newspaper club for ignoring her in coverage, triggering another clash with Ikki.

In Medarot 3, she forcibly joins Ikki and Arika’s Medalympics team, rebranding it "The Corkscrews" while independently controlling Noctocat. She later schemes to steal Ikki’s private school badge but returns it after a failed robattle. Despite remaining on the team temporarily, she ultimately steps down to refocus on leading The Screws.

The first Medarot anime initially depicts her as an antagonist who gradually reveals a softer side, including ballet interests and romantic pursuits. She evolves from a bully into an occasional ally, aiding Ikki’s group against larger threats by the series’ end. Screws members consistently address her with the honorific "oyabin" (Boss or Boss Girl).

In Medarot Damashii (Medabots Spirits), she regresses to antagonism, collaborating with Kokuryuu Kamizake in exchange for Peppercat upgrades. This involves leaking intel or aiding his Death Medarot schemes, though she eventually reconsiders the alliance amid moral conflict. Concurrently, she develops romantic feelings for Ginkai after he adopts honorable robattling tactics.

Her broader traits include a concealed conscience, crisis-driven teamwork with rivals, and an internal struggle between her tough persona and vulnerabilities like relationship-seeking. These nuances persist across games, anime seasons, and manga adaptations such as Fox Kids Annual 2004, where she battles Ikki using a Medabot named Battle Tank.
