Description
Prudox, the Italian dub name for the character Cancer, is a human Decepticon Headmaster Junior from China. Orphaned as an infant, he was raised by the sensei of the Chōryūken dojo. Bullied by other students due to his orphan status, he dedicated himself to mastering the Super Dragon Fist martial art to honor the dojo. He departed during the Decepticons' resurgence on Earth, joining them for power and belonging, unaware his sensei interpreted his leaving as a rejection of the dojo’s teachings and died of sadness.
As a Headmaster Junior, he bonds with a lifeless Master-origin Transtector that transforms into a bipedal crab monster. Heir to the Super Dragon Fist style, his powerful kicks earn admiration from Mega, a Decepticon Godmaster who acts maternally toward him. His fellow Headmaster Juniors—Wilder, an American biker, and Bullhorn, a Mexican street thug—are genuine friends. He partners with Browning, a small gun Transformer who addresses him as "boss" and obeys loyally.
Prudox’s disillusionment with the Decepticons grows as their cruelty escalates. After Autobots capture him, the kindness of Autobot Junior Minerva—who tends his injuries despite his hostility—creates internal conflict. This culminates in him saving Minerva from execution by Decepticon Godmaster Buster, pleading against killing, though he later rationalizes it as repaying her earlier mercy. Witnessing Decepticon leader Devil Z’s genocidal plans, including the Death Para-Machine targeting humans, intensifies his moral struggle. Learning his hometown faces destruction, he races there in his Transtector to warn inhabitants, who flee in terror. During this, he encounters Chang, an old dojo acquaintance, reinforcing his human ties. Supplementary manga highlights his bond with Browning, such as explaining the Chinese term "dachi" (friend), underscoring his cultural roots and capacity for connection.
He ultimately rejects the Decepticon cause. Following Devil Z’s defeat and the Masterforce’s dissolution, he is permanently separated from his Transtector, an event shared by all human Transformers, marking his exit from the conflict.
