Description
Lightfoot was born human in England to Leftfoot, founder of British Motors, but raised in Canada from infancy. At age two, exposure to transformative energy from his father's prototype car—built with ore concealing a Transtector—unknowingly altered him. Inheriting British Motors at 17, he remained humble despite wealth, cultivating a gentle, protective nature that often drove him towards extreme self-sacrifice.
Compelled by recurring dreams of a giant robot, Lightfoot contacted Ginrai after seeing his televised appeal. Ginrai provided Master-Braces; when equipped, they confirmed Lightfoot's Godmaster potential by encasing him in armor. Bonding with his Transtector—a white Mazda RX-7 capable of Mach 10—he transformed into a robotic form for the first time, immediately fending off attacks by Decepticon Pretenders. This encounter marked his Autobot induction under Ginrai's mentorship.
As a Godmaster, Lightfoot wielded Chōkon Power focused on water manipulation. His signature "Land Waterfall" technique summoned high-pressure water jets from underground against enemies. He frequently partnered with fellow Godmasters Ranger and Road King on critical missions, including hostage rescue on Atlan Island and defending the Godbomber construction at British Motors' factory. His protective instincts sometimes overruled judgment, nearly leading him to self-destruct shielding Ginrai from an underwater volcanic eruption until intervention stopped him.
Serving as Ginrai's second-in-command, Lightfoot occasionally clashed due to pride. Enemies exploited his family ties, such as Decepticons kidnapping Leftfoot for coercion. After Decepticon leader Devil Z possessed BlackZarak, Lightfoot fought pivotal battles across Europe and the Grand Canyon. Devil Z's defeat during the final Alps conflict severed human-Transtector bonds. Lightfoot reverted to human form, while his Transtector gained independent sentience, retaining his name and personality. This robotic Lightfoot joined other autonomous Transtectors pursuing Decepticons into space.
Expanded media featured the robotic Lightfoot defending a Transtector factory in G Nebula 89 against Overlord (*Legends*, 2021). He resurfaced under Ginrai's command during G Nebula 89 battles (*Victory*, 2025) and attended Dai Atlas's ascension as Autobot leader (*Zone*).
Origin discrepancies exist: some sources cite Canada as his residence during Godmaster discovery, while techno-specifications list his "origin" as the USA. His father's name, Leftfoot, complements "Lightfoot" via a Japanese L/R phonetic pun, with "Lightfoot" interpretable as "Rightfoot".
