Description
Red, born Gideon Ragnason, carries the Divine Blessing of the "Guide," granting him innate leadership and an initial power level of 30. This blessing sharpened his proficiency in foundational skills while restricting specialized talents, causing peers to underestimate his strategic genius and logistical prowess despite his critical role in guiding heroes. Raised among the Bahamut Knights, he rose to deputy commander by 18 and joined the Hero’s party led by his younger sister, Ruti. Exiled by the party’s sage, Ares Srowa, who dismissed him as unworthy, he reinvented himself as Red, a D-rank adventurer and herbalist in the frontier town of Zoltan, seeking solace in a quiet life far from grandeur.

His modest appearance—dark hair, shadowed blue eyes, and plain attire of a cloak, white shirt, and copper sword—belies lethal efficiency. Mastery of common skills elevates ordinary abilities to extraordinary heights: Swift Mastery propels him with lightning speed, Endurance Mastery grants tireless stamina, and First Aid Mastery transforms basic healing into lifesaving care. Survival instincts and acrobatic agility let him navigate treacherous terrain and evade attacks, while tactical brilliance and precise swordsmanship enable victories against overwhelming odds, even with rudimentary weapons.

Driven by quiet humility and empathy, Red shuns conflict but steps forward to shield others, guided by an unwavering moral code. Though he dismisses his talents as inferior to specialized blessings, allies value his indispensable contributions. After leaving the Hero’s party, he dedicates himself to freeing Ruti from the emotional numbness imposed by her Hero Blessing, supporting her rebellion against destiny. His bond with Rit, a former princess turned adventurer, deepens into a marriage of equals; together, they operate an apothecary, defying societal expectations to protect their shared peace.

Central to his world is Ruti, whom he mentors and safeguards, and Ares, whose envy sparks betrayal and a deadly clash. Red’s strategic mind and emotional steadiness once unified the Hero’s party, and its fragmentation after his exile reveals his hidden role as its foundation. In Zoltan, he quietly aids townsfolk through herbalism and combat, drawing allies like the elf Yarandrala while confronting threats from mutated beasts and artificial blessings.

Over time, Red shifts from guiding heroes to nurturing Zoltan’s community. He devises ways to weaken divine blessings, determined to liberate Ruti from her fate, and faces remnants of his past, including Ares’s vengeful schemes. His journey defies predetermined roles, championing self-determination over destiny. Though retired from adventuring, he remains Zoltan’s steadfast guardian, balancing his longing for tranquility with a resolve to defend justice and those he loves.
