Description
Born around 2001 in Nagano, Japan, Ginrai initially lived as a human. Seeking freedom from societal constraints, he moved to the United States at age seventeen. There, he drove long-haul trucks for Union Transportation, relishing the open road's solitude while his easygoing nature earned camaraderie among fellow drivers.

His existence shifted during a delivery transporting an ill dolphin. Stranded by a breakdown, he rented a mysterious red tractor trailer cab from a California garage. Inside, Master-Braces fused to his wrists. When Decepticon Godmasters Hydra and Buster attacked, Ginrai accidentally activated the braces, bonding him to the cab—a lifeless Transtector designed for Optimus Prime but stolen by the entity Devil Z from G Nebula. The fusion healed his injuries, transforming him into an Autobot Godmaster.

Initially resistant to Autobot command, Ginrai prioritized independence until witnessing Decepticon atrocities—including his trucker friends' murders—and prophetic dreams of other Godmasters compelled his allegiance. He discovered three additional Master-Braces within his Transtector and later located their human partners: Lightfoot, Ranger, and Road King, integrating them into Autobot ranks.

Ginrai's power evolved significantly. His base form unleashed "Atomic Fire Guts" by channeling Chōkon Power. After uncovering his Transtector's buried trailer near Mount Yatsugatake, he achieved "Double On" combination into Super Ginrai, upgrading his attack to "Special Fire Guts." To counter Decepticon super-weapon BlackZarak, Autobots built drone Godbomber; combining with it created God Ginrai, wielding "God Fire Guts" and, with Headmaster Juniors' combined Chōkon Power, the ultimate "Final Fire Guts."

Following Metalhawk's resignation, Ginrai reluctantly assumed command. His leadership faced crises like Doubleclouder's Decepticon mole betrayal, which destroyed the Autobot base. Yet Ginrai maintained trust, accepting Doubleclouder's redemption and rescuing rival Overlord from Devil Z's threat.

After Devil Z's defeat, the human-Transtector bond dissolved. Human Ginrai resumed normal life, permanently losing transformation abilities. His Transtector gained independent sentience, retaining Ginrai's personality as the autonomous entity God Ginrai.

In *Transformers: Victory*, robotic God Ginrai commanded the Autobot Second Army. During a clash with Decepticon leader Deathsaurus, a Living-Metal-Destroying Cannon blast mortally wounded him. Autobot medics Perceptor and Wheeljack rebuilt him as Victory Leo, a lion-form mecha combinable with Star Saber into Victory Saber. Though initially feral, Ginrai's core persona reemerged in critical battles.

Within the *Legends* manga, human Ginrai resurfaced in the Legends World to combat a revived Devil Z. Bonding with a new Transtector as its head rather than engine, he regained transformation into Super Ginrai to repel the threat. Observers in this world frequently mistook his Transtector for Optimus Prime due to its appearance.
