Description
Tasmania Kid serves as a Maximal under Lio Convoy's command. He crash-landed on Gaia during an energy flare investigation mission. Forced by the planet's atmosphere to scan a beast mode for survival, he intended to choose an eagle. However, an unexpected Tasmanian devil crossed his path, causing an accidental scan that permanently locked him into that form. He expressed dissatisfaction, considering Tasmanian devils uncool.
His personality exhibits youthful recklessness, intense ambition, and a strong desire for recognition as a legendary warrior. He frequently disregards training, strategy, and orders in his eagerness to achieve glory quickly. This impulsiveness regularly plunges him into dangerous situations, causing trouble for himself and fellow Maximals. Superiors view his enthusiasm as a trait to shape rather than suppress, and he gradually learns lessons through his mistakes. Key relationships include a close friendship with Diver, whom he often involves in poorly conceived schemes, and a kinship with Scissor Boy of the Insectrons due to shared youthful interests.
Throughout Gaia's conflict, he participates in numerous battles against the Predacons. Notable incidents involve extinguishing a forest fire in beast mode using unconventional methods, and rigging tunnels with explosives to destroy an Autoroller base. In other continuities, he appears under Big Convoy's command on Cybertron during the IDW Beast Wars comics. Investigating Shokaract's tower, Shokaract emerged and killed him by tearing him in two. Subsequent time travel interventions failed to prevent this outcome. He also briefly appears in *Beast Wars Neo*, having escaped a wormhole to aid Cybertron's rebuilding efforts after Unicron's attack. A one-off manga story depicts him being worshipped as a deity on a planet of rabbit-formers, home to the Maximal Stampy. An evil clone, "Black Tasmania Kid," was created by a copy machine device wielded by Black Lio Convoy.
