OVA
Description
Originally designated Orion Pax, Convoy stands as the supreme commander of the Cybertrons (Autobots). His transformation sequence reconfigures him into a 1970s Freightliner FL86 cab-over-engine semi-trailer truck. He commands all operations and personnel, overseeing major projects such as the construction of Metroplex, a mobile base functioning as the powerful city-former warrior Scramble City.
His sensory capabilities are exceptionally advanced, enabling him to read text from 10 kilometers away and detect subtle movements like a butterfly's wing flaps from 3 kilometers. His physical strength allows penetration of special alloys up to 2 meters thick. A seasoned military strategist, he coordinates combiner teams like the Aerialbots (Superion) and Protectobots (Defensor) in engagements. He possesses the Matrix of Leadership, granting abilities including precognition, resurrection after mortal injuries, and energy channeling for offensive attacks such as the "Matrix Attack" and "Matrix Saturn".
During the Scramble City incident, he directed defensive operations after the Decepticons (Destrons) discovered Metroplex's location. He mobilized the Aerialbots to counter Devastator and later deployed the Protectobots against the Combaticons. His tactical commands culminated in Metroplex's activation to repel the invasion, though the battle ended unresolved with Trypticon's emergence.
Beyond this event, Convoy exhibits multiple forms and upgrades across continuities. His "Star Convoy" configuration harnesses supernova energy through the Zodiac, enabling faster-than-light travel and firepower exceeding 40 exatons via the Galaxy Bomber cannon. The "Nucleon Quest Super Convoy" form, binary-bonded to the Nebulan scientist Hi-Q, withstands black hole traversal using Phase Modulation Shield technology. An Action Master body sacrifices transformation for enhanced power during his co-rule of Cybertron. Other iterations include "Hero Convoy" wielding the Gatling Impact Laser and "Battle Convoy" equipped with a Cybertonium sword capable of slicing upgraded adversaries. A black-body variant absorbs electromagnetic radiation to power missile systems.
His relationship with Ultra Magnus combines kinship and command; Magnus serves as a sub-commander and brother figure. They execute combined techniques like the "Prime-Magnus Double Cross Kick" and "Finish Double" attack. Convoy later revived Magnus through the Matrix after his death in the *Headmasters* continuity, where Magnus perished in combat against Sixshot.
The Matrix also facilitates broader capabilities: recharging via planetary energy or Transformer souls, reconfiguring physical forms, and reviving deceased warriors into new bodies. These powers underscore his role as a multiversal constant, including leadership of the cross-dimensional Convoy group tasked with multiverse stabilization.
