Bazz-B, originally Bazzard Black, serves among the Wandenreich's elite Quincy warriors, the Sternritter, designated "H: The Heat" for his mastery over fire. His striking appearance features intense green eyes and a vibrant red mohawk, a point of fierce pride easily provoked by mockery. He wears a modified Sternritter uniform: a white hooded cloak over a thigh-length trench coat, black gloves, cropped pants, and military boots. Distinctive accessories include a thin chain bearing the Wandenreich emblem around his neck, black armbands etched with a skull-and-crossbones motif, and piercings—two metal nuts in his upper-left ear and a bolt in his lower-right ear. Following his clash with Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, his mohawk bears visible damage and appears unkempt.
He exhibits a harsh, hot-headed personality, frequently voicing dissent against perceived injustices or decisions he opposes. Though initially loyal to Yhwach and holding Jugram Haschwalth in high esteem, he displays scant compassion for most comrades, openly mocking fellow Sternritter like Cang Du or attacking Candice Catnipp and Meninas McAllon to claim their battles. He operates by a self-justified creed: "the right to steal someone's prey lies with the one who arrives last." Despite this, he shows flashes of protectiveness toward allies when necessary. Supremely confident in his fiery power, he boasts of melting Tōshirō Hitsugaya's ice with one finger or surviving Yamamoto's assaults. Crucially, his loyalty is conditional; he openly challenges Yhwach's appointment of Uryū Ishida as successor and later vows revenge after suffering betrayal.
His past reveals a childhood as a lord's son in a northern village. He first encountered Jugram Haschwalth during a rabbit hunt, critiquing Haschwalth's skill before forging a bond. Bazz-B gave his own kill to spare Haschwalth punishment from his uncle, pledging to train him into the strongest Quincy. Half a year later, Yhwach incinerated Bazz-B's village and the surrounding forest, killing Haschwalth's uncle. The two survivors used salvaged money to train relentlessly for five years, plotting Yhwach's demise. During this period, Bazz-B recognized Haschwalth's difficulty manipulating Reishi but resolved never to abandon him.
When Yhwach announced the Sternritter's formation, Bazz-B eagerly volunteered both himself and Haschwalth. Rejected by Yhwach's guard Hubert, Bazz-B challenged him, only for Yhwach to arrive and select Haschwalth as his right-hand instead. Yhwach revealed Haschwalth's latent power-distribution ability had amplified Bazz-B's own prowess. Enraged, Bazz-B attacked Yhwach, but Haschwalth intercepted the blow. Bazz-B later joined the Sternritter but repeatedly challenged Haschwalth to duels to prove his superiority, all refused due to the death penalty for infighting.
During the Thousand-Year Blood War, Bazz-B invaded Soul Society, ambushing 3rd Division members, severely wounding Lieutenant Izuru Kira and killing seated officers. He survived Yamamoto's Ryūjin Jakka alongside Äs Nödt and NaNaNa Najahkoop, sustaining burns. After Yhwach named Uryū Ishida successor, Bazz-B objected and confronted Haschwalth, declaring he would seize the throne himself. In the war's second invasion, he battled Hitsugaya and Rangiku Matsumoto, wielding his flames against their ice techniques but struggling against their layered defenses.
His core power is the Schrift "The Heat," enabling him to generate and manipulate intense flames via environmental Reishi control. Key techniques are Burner Finger 1 (a narrow fire beam from one finger), Burner Finger 2 (explosive slashes with two fingers), Burner Finger 3 (melting solid structures into lava with three fingers), and Burner Finger 4 (a potent flame slash or defensive ring using all fingers). His Heilig Bogen manifests as a crossbow-like Reishi weapon, complemented by standard Quincy abilities like Hirenkyaku and Blut.
A pivotal betrayal occurs when Yhwach uses the Auswählen to sacrifice Bazz-B and other Sternritter to revive the Schutzstaffel. This act, coupled with Yhwach's plan to destroy the world, shatters Bazz-B's loyalty. Surviving the ordeal, he renounces his allegiance and vows to kill Yhwach, transforming from soldier to avenger.
