Description
Ikuko, a wealthy young woman, initially rebuffs romantic overtures from Tanaka, showing no interest in him or men generally. Her devotion centers entirely on her governess and lover, Dr. Manami Shibata, following their first intimate encounter. This profound attachment compels Ikuko to amend her will in Manami's favor. Unaware of Manami's growing fatigue with their relationship—stemming from Ikuko's perceived clinginess and Manami's secret engagement to another doctor, Akihiro Okabe—Ikuko remains trustful.
Manami plots to murder Ikuko to inherit her wealth and marry Okabe. She injects Ikuko with egg yolk disguised as a booster shot and later orders an egg-based dish at a restaurant, triggering a severe allergic reaction. Hospitalized, Ikuko deteriorates further when Manami administers additional egg yolk through her IV. Near death, Ikuko's soul is drawn into a limbo dimension by Kayuga, a spiritual entity. Kayuga instructs her to cross the Bridge of Dreams without looking back to attain her greatest desire. Ikuko expresses her wish for Manami to love her even posthumously, refusing Kayuga’s warnings to reconsider. She fails to complete the crossing after turning back prematurely.
Kayuga subsequently reveals visions of Manami and Okabe's affair and the murder plot, forcing Ikuko to witness the betrayal directly. This shatters Ikuko, causing emotional collapse over the treachery and her feelings of being unloved. Kayuga then demonstrates Tanaka's unwavering devotion, including his temporary gender transformation to avenge her. Witnessing this sacrifice, Ikuko is profoundly moved by Tanaka's commitment despite her prior rejection.
Facing cremation orchestrated by Manami to hide evidence, Ikuko's body is saved when Tanaka intervenes at the crematorium. His actions trigger a magical event transporting them both to the Bridge of Dreams. Tanaka successfully crosses and reunites with Ikuko's soul. She apologizes to him and voices gratitude for his love. They share their first kiss, restoring Ikuko to life. Reunited, they embrace and later engage in mutual seduction.
