Description
Teresa is a telepathic entity dwelling on the planet Telezart, also called Terezart, within her hovering palace that functions as a spacecraft. She generates potent anti-matter through prayer. Her origins lie with the ancient Terezartians, an alien race that achieved the peak of civilization by transforming the power of the soul into energy. They eventually transcended physical form, merging into a single mental entity—Teresa—who exists in a higher dimension where time is visible.

She witnessed her interstellar hub of a world descend into all-out war. Her fervent prayers tragically produced anti-matter that annihilated all life on the planet. After this devastation, she vowed never to use her power to harm again.

When the Comet Empire, or Gatlantis, threatened the galaxy, she sent warnings to Earth, prompting the space battleship Yamato to journey to her world. During the voyage, she developed a romantic bond over radio communications with crew member Daisuke Shima.

Upon the Yamato’s arrival at Telezart—then occupied by Gatlantis—she revealed her history and nature. In the original narrative, she initially refused to fight the Comet Empire or leave her planet, but her love for Shima overcame her pacifism. She used her psionic power to transform Telezart into pure energy and detonated it in the path of the Comet Empire. Though the empire’s plasma shield prevented total destruction, the blast threw it off course and inflicted heavy damage.

She survived inside her spacecraft and traveled to the solar system, where she found Shima’s corpse in space and revived him using her own blood. With her last power, she destroyed Zwordar’s dreadnought, saving Earth. Her ultimate fate remains unknown.

In the film *Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato*, her form is composed entirely of anti-matter. This version does not include a romance with Shima. Held captive on Telezart by the Comet Empire, she explains to the Yamato crew that contact between her anti-matter body and normal matter would cause a massive explosion. She vanishes after praying for Earth’s victory. Later, inspired by Susumu Kodai’s sacrifice, she uses her own anti-matter body to amplify the Yamato’s final charge into the enemy flagship.

The planet Telezart is a free-floating terrestrial world, mostly water-covered and hollow, overflowing with Teresa’s energy which behaves like anti-matter. It exists between normal space and a higher dimension and can become invisible and intangible at her will.

She serves as a guide who sees all possible futures across the flow of time, intervening to steer humanity toward the most optimal future. Her legend as a goddess whose power can fulfill any wish is handed down across space.
