Description
El Miles is a police officer, designated a sniper, within a domed city created by the Megaro Earth Project to preserve humanity after a global nuclear war. Her duty involves law enforcement and defending the city against the terrorist group, the Black Widow. Driven by a commitment to protect citizens, intensified by the past loss of colleagues to the terrorists, she sometimes questions her effectiveness when unable to save everyone. She exhibits high proficiency with her service weapon but feels discomfort under the constant surveillance of city drones called "Vision Scope."
Assigned to protect pop singer Parsley, who narrowly escaped a rape attempt by Black Widow operatives, El Miles becomes the target of Parsley's romantic advances and seduction attempts. Simultaneously, she discovers trusted individuals—fellow snipers, superiors, and long-term acquaintances—are secretly aligning with the Black Widow. Plagued by unexplained blackouts and vivid hallucinations increasing in frequency, medical evaluations attribute them to anemia. These episodes cause significant distress and erode her trust. The hallucinations often feature visions of an alternate reality. She also faces psychological torment from the Black Widow's leader.
Ultimately, El Miles learns her perceived reality is an artificial construct. She and a man named Joe are the last surviving humans on Earth.
