Description
Mamoru Amami, originally named Latio, was born on the Green Planet in the Trinary Solar System to its leader Cain and an unnamed mother. During the planet's fall to the Zonder Metal and Machine Primevals, Cain placed the infant Latio aboard Galeon. This vessel transported him to Earth via the Galeoria Comet in 1997. Discovered near the North Pole by married couple Isamu and Ai Amami, he was adopted and named "Mamoru," meaning "to protect." His extraterrestrial origins and memories were sealed within a pendant. Raised as a normal human child in Tokyo, his latent abilities remained dormant until 2005. Sensing and purifying a Zonder Core during an encounter with EI-02 on Garbage Island awakened his powers, drawing the attention of Earth defense organization GGG.

Mamoru joined GGG as a special agent without formal rank, utilizing his purification ability against Zonder Cores, though it proved ineffective against the later 31 Machine Primevals. A pivotal moment came during the battle against Primevals at Jupiter. Contact with Galeon's restored program via Cain unlocked his sealed memories, revealing his true heritage. Following the defeat of the Primevals and Zonuda, Mamoru departed Earth with Galeon to restore the Trinary Solar System using a massive G-Crystal. Facing the emergence of the 11 Planetary Masters of Sol, he created duplicates of himself and Galeon using a regeneration machine, stole the Pas-Q Machine's backbone circuit, and fled toward Earth. Rescued near Jupiter by Ikumi Kaidou and the J-Ark, he spearheaded the final conflict against the Sol Masters, confronting Pei La Cain—a replica of his father. Post-battle, he returned to Earth's solar system to aid reconstruction.

Approximately eight years after the events of FINAL, Mamoru, now in his twenties, served as a full member of the newly formed Gutsy Global Guard (GGG Blue). Despite his age, his physical appearance remained largely unchanged, leading to frequent mistaken identity as a teenager. He co-piloted the new Super Mechanoid GaoGaiGo alongside Ikumi Kaidou, sharing a deep bond that evolved from genetic counterparts to trusted partners. During this period, he married childhood friend Hana Hatsuno, a Mobile Unit Lead Operator for GGG, and they had a son named Tsubasa. Mamoru harbored a critical secret: the Genesic GaoGaiGar—piloted by Guy Shishioh during FINAL—bore an unmistakable resemblance to the "King of Ruin," a Triple Zero-corrupted entity threatening Earth. This connection remained confidential to prevent public backlash against GGG and ensure continued rescue efforts for the missing original GGG team, lost in another dimension.

Mamoru's abilities included telekinesis, energy shielding, atmospheric and interplanetary flight while emitting green light, and the signature power to purify corrupted entities like Zonder Cores. He could "adjust" damaged machinery, particularly GS-Ride-based systems, restoring functionality instantly—such as preventing rejection in Cyborg Guy's organic-mechanical interfaces. In later conflicts, he contributed to operating Final GaoGaiGar, an upgraded Genesic GaoGaiGar repaired after Triple Zero corruption. Due to damaged control cores, Mamoru fused directly with the Genesic Machine GadgetGao alongside other GGG members, enabling enhanced power through collective courage. His purification abilities evolved to counteract Triple Zero's influence on mechanized threats.

Key relationships defined his journey: a brotherly bond with Guy Shishioh, whom he called "Gai-nii-chan"; a rivalry-turned-friendship with Ikumi Kaidou, culminating in seamless coordination as GaoGaiGo's pilots; a romantic and marital relationship with Hana Hatsuno; and unwavering support from adoptive parents Isamu and Ai Amami. His story concluded with a symbolic return to Galeon's original Earth landing site alongside his family, reaffirming his commitment to protecting Earth while honoring his Green Planet heritage.
