Description
Hayato Honda is a male motorcycle police officer with a split personality activated by riding motorcycles. Tall and slightly lean, he sports a black pompadour hairstyle from his teenage biker gang years. His timid demeanor manifests in a distinctive posture: clenched fists tucked beneath his chin, elbows splayed outward, knees pressed together, and feet turned inward. His uniform consists of long blue pants, a blue coat with rolled sleeves, a yellow neckerchief, and black boots, complemented by a helmet during patrols.
Gentle and emotionally sensitive, he frequently tears up during intense moments, balancing effeminate mannerisms with passions for shojo manga, J-pop/K-pop idols, cosplay, cooking, and art. After 180 unsuccessful romantic pursuits, he finds stability with Nana Otohime, a Transport Division subordinate who shares his love for shojo manga, bolstering his once-fragile self-esteem.
Motorcycle engagement triggers a stark transformation, his voice deepening and demeanor shifting to brash, fearless aggression marked by sharp speech and intimidating expressions. This duality mirrors his family’s trait of personality shifts tied to specific objects: his father, Kaizou, adopts aggression in mechanic attire; his brother Kadoki becomes competitive on bicycles; and his sister Eve turns violent atop elephants.
Though reluctantly partnered with Kankichi Ryotsu—often dragged into ill-fated schemes that leave both reprimanded—he maintains a respectful bond, addressing Ryotsu as "senpai" normally and "Ryotsu no Danna" in his aggressive persona. His police role capitalizes on his biker gang expertise, enabling high-speed pursuits.
His family’s motorcycle workshop, Honda Ringyo, specializes in Kawasaki bikes, conflicting with his loyalty to Honda models. He fiercely protects his sister Eve, resisting her marriage prospects and fleeing her volatile elephant-riding alter ego. Born on February 29th, his non-leap year birthday observances remain undefined. Prominent in the anime, his manga presence is sporadic, debuting in Volume 14 and Episode 10.
