Nancy Strauch, daughter of the Syncam Corporation president, accompanies the deep-space survey mission aboard the Saldes with her cherished cat, Lily, refusing separation during the voyage. Her core motivation stems from resentment: exploiting cryogenic sleep to return to Earth youthfully and flaunt her appearance before a former friend who stole her boyfriend, driven by jealousy and rivalry.

After hypersleep, an alien bacterial contaminant infiltrates the ship, dissolving organic matter and evolving into a hostile, shape-shifting organism that slaughters the crew. As deaths escalate, Nancy suffers a psychological collapse. Amidst the chaos, she confesses her shallow reasons for joining the expedition to surviving crewmates. Concurrently, Lily is exposed as a robotic entity—Lily C.A.T.—controlled by Syncam Corporation and the ship's systems to propagate the pathogen deliberately, sacrificing the crew for corporate experimentation.

Trapped with final survivors Captain Mike Hamilton and fugitive Jiro Takagi, Nancy witnesses Hamilton’s sacrificial destruction of the ship to eradicate the alien threat. She and Jiro escape via a concealed shuttle, crash-landing on planet LA003. Forced to confront her past pettiness by the trauma, Nancy resolves alongside Jiro to persevere and survive on the alien world, concluding her arc with this commitment.
