TV-Series
Description
Impact is a colossal clockwork mecha forged by the Wise Old Man, summoned via the Triton Shell to aid Goemon against towering foes in tokusatsu fashion. Functioning as both a piloted war machine and a distinct entity, Impact possesses his own consciousness, history, and ambitions beyond combat.
His imposing form distinctly echoes Goemon's attire and visage, complete with an enormous kiseru pipe wielded as a weapon. Notable deviations include a prominent blue afro housing his internal generator and a permanently agape mouth that doubles as the cockpit entry and the firing port for his ultimate Impact Beam. Roller skates integrated into his sandals grant mobility, a design choice inspired by a specific 1986 Konami advertisement.
In battle, Impact employs punches, kicks, and grappling with a chain pipe variant, alongside launching flaming coins from his nostrils. His signature finisher remains the Impact Beam unleashed from his mouth. While claiming origin from Planet Impact in *Ganbare Goemon Kirakira Dōchū*, this conflicts with his established Earthly creation by the Wise Old Man and remains unmentioned in later entries.
Antagonists sometimes seize control, such as Shogun McGuiness stealing the Triton Shell. Impact features across numerous games, including *Ganbare Goemon 2: Kiteretsu Shōgun Magginesu* (1993), *Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon* (1997), and *Goemon’s Great Adventure* (1999). His pursuits extend to a career as a dancer and movie star, leading him to temporarily depart his allies for filming in America.
A smaller counterpart, Goemon Compact, appears in spin-offs like *Jikkyō Oshaberi Parodius* and *Mini Kyodai Robo Goemon Compact*. Impact also makes hidden appearances as an Easter egg in titles such as *Yu-Gi-Oh! Reshef of Destruction* and *Amazing Bomberman*.
