Description
Kutal is a feline Enterran with Earth elemental abilities who joins Yakumo, Mushra, and Sago to find Shinzo. He represents the Tiger and the West. The group first encounters him in New York's ruins, where he poses as a knowledgeable guide to Shinzo, claiming extensive familiarity despite Mushra's doubts about his expertise. His primary motivation is food; his culinary obsession often distracts him, igniting flammable substances while cooking or triggering traps chasing dropped items, endangering the group.

He provides consistent comic relief through refined culinary mannerisms and gourmet obsession, though this fades during combat. In battle, he wields a flail in his base form and pilots a vaguely car-shaped vehicle. Transforming via "Eye of the Lion," he becomes Hyper Kutal, adopting a liger-like physiology with seismic attacks. This form displays heightened maturity, focus, and combat efficacy, contrasting his usual demeanor. Later, King Nipper grants him fairy-like wings, augmenting his power.

His loyalty evolves. Initially seeing Yakumo as a potential food source, he shifts to protecting her after witnessing her concern for his injured paw. This dedication intensifies when he defends his niece and nephews, Rei, Sen, and Este, from a pterodactyl using a frying pan. Though resistant to the kittens joining the journey, he accepts them after they prove capable. His commitment to Yakumo's safety drives his participation in critical battles against Enterran generals like Daku and Ryuma, where his Encard is absorbed to form Mushrambo.

During Rusephine's altered timeline, he remains with the group. He participates in the final confrontation against Lanancuras. In the manga, his story concludes residing peacefully in a village with Yakumo, Mushra, and Sago. His character design and narrative function serve as a loose homage to Zhu Bajie from *Journey to the West*, blending comedic traits with underlying loyalty.
