Description
Chigusa Mizusawa, widowed aunt to Kasumi Kishimoto as the youngest sister of Kasumi's mother, runs the Hidamari Private Boarding House from her home. This boarding house caters exclusively to male students from nearby Myōjō High School. Her four tenants are Makoto Aido (Room 1), Takashi Ariyama (Room 2), Yusaku Takasugi (Room 3), and Shin Mikimoto (Room 4).
Her late husband's family connection makes Katsuhiko Muraki, Kasumi's boyfriend, her nephew-in-law, as he is the son of her late husband's brother.
As landlady, Chigusa oversees the boarding house operations where Kasumi also lives among the male students, forming the central living situation. Her tenant decisions sometimes involve personal factors, like permitting Maria Ota and her widowed father to move in partly because she finds the father attractive. Her role remains consistent as the manager of the boarding house and Kasumi's aunt.
