Puru works alongside her brother Waya as one of Dr. Scarecrow's primary assistants. They first became his magic disciples after taking his warnings about devil threats to the Doll Kingdom seriously, unlike others who ignored him. Acting on orders from the possessed Queen Yae and the demon Devaul, their core task involves aiding Dr. Scarecrow in his repeated missions to abduct Licca Kayama.

Puru and Waya frequently prove incompetent in these duties, leading to numerous failed abduction attempts. These failures draw rebukes from Dr. Scarecrow and, in turn, reprimands for Scarecrow from Devaul. Their repeated mistakes contribute to Scarecrow's eventual imprisonment by Yae after he uncovers Devaul's possession.

Midway through the series, Puru and Waya abandon their villainous roles. They reform, joining the protagonists' side to actively protect Licca from Devaul's threats. Though temporarily captured again after breaking Scarecrow's brainwashing during a kidnapping plot orchestrated by Misty, they persist in aiding the heroes.

During the final battle against Devaul, Puru and Waya directly intervene when Devaul possesses Scarecrow and grants him a dragon form to attack Licca. Their actions enable Scarecrow to regain his sanity, break free from Devaul's control, and assist in the main antagonist's ultimate defeat.
