Necile is a wood nymph dwelling in the Forest of Burzee, where she tends the trees and sustains the forest’s vitality under Queen Zurline’s rule.

She possesses pointed ears, curly antennae, chestnut hair, red lipstick, green wings, and blue eyes that shift to purple in shadow. She wears oak-green garments, traditional among her kind.

Her story unfolds when she finds an abandoned human infant. Defying forest law, she takes the child from the lioness Shiegra and appeals to Ak, the Master Woodsman of the World, for the right to raise him. Granted permission, she names the boy Claus—though she calls him by the shorter name—and raises him with help from other immortal beings of the forest.

As Claus matures and prepares to depart Burzee for the Laughing Valley to live among humans, Necile supports his transition. She continues to advise and aid his efforts, especially in his mission to bring joy to children through toy-making, such as when he crafts a new toy for a child named Bessie Blithesome.

When Claus confronts the Awgwas, creatures who steal toys meant for children, Necile joins the fight. She battles with her enchanted willow branch, defeating the Awgwas by transforming them into clods of earth.

Later, as Claus nears the end of his mortal life, Necile attends the Council of Immortals where Ak advocates for granting him immortality. The council approves, and Claus becomes immortal, ensuring his work endures.

In a video game adaptation, Necile features as a playable character with abilities including flight, growing trees, and fighting enemies with her willow branch. She is one of the few characters able to defeat the Awgwas.
