Description
Rinko Nikaidō, discovered as a baby on Mari Nikaidō's doorstep and raised as her adopted daughter, attends Shirabara Private High School, Class 2-A. Her personality is energetic, assertive, and often aggressive. She speaks her mind directly with minimal tact and exhibits a rebellious nature, frequently breaking rules. Despite this, she demonstrates fierce loyalty to her friends, prioritizing their well-being even at significant personal risk. She is an avid wrestling fan and regularly attends matches involving Mantaro Kinniku.

Typically, Rinko has brown hair (depicted as blonde in lighter tones during the Ultimate Chōjin Tag arc), styled in low pigtails reaching mid-back length. She has brown eyes, pale skin, and wears varied outfits.

Her relationship with Mantaro Kinniku begins antagonistically. At their first meeting during a speed-dating event, she rejects his romantic advances by tearing up his date request card. Later, after witnessing him reject a compensated dating offer and get beaten up, she aids him and offers to take him home. This encounter reveals her delinquent tendencies, as she is caught breaking curfew, and confirms her residence at Suminoe Kindergarten with Mari. Her view of Mantaro shifts from casual acquaintance to genuine friendship, though his romantic interest remains largely unreciprocated.

Early story arcs establish her protective instincts and moral courage. She intervenes when classmate Keiko is bullied by Tamaki Maekawa for withholding protection money, decisively ending the harassment. Later, she rescues Keiko from a dangerous man involved in compensated dating, only to be threatened and taken hostage by The Rigani. Stripped and held captive, she compels Mantaro to fight for her rescue. Her vocal support during the battle marks the beginning of her respect for his strength.

In the Fire of Inner Strength Challenge arc, Mari instructs Rinko to email Mantaro for motivation. Skeptical, Rinko complies but sends a suggestive photograph edited with a black bar over "private parts," teasing full disclosure if he wins. Unbeknownst to Mantaro, the photo merely depicts her in a revealing swimsuit.

During the Chōjin Olympics: The Resurrection arc, Rinko displays romantic interest in Jade. Paired with him for a three-legged race preliminary, she follows his commands diligently, contributing to their third-place finish despite interruptions. Later, she throws in the towel during Jade’s match against Ricardo in a futile attempt to prevent severe injury. Concurrently, her friendship with Jacqueline Muscle deepens, evolving from initial friction to near-inseparable camaraderie. They frequently share opinions and act in unison during conflicts, such as defending Justice Chōjin.

The Demon Seed arc highlights her role as an emotional mediator. She chastises Mantaro for refusing to team with Kevin Mask to rescue Meat, throwing an empty can in frustration. Her tearful plea later halts a physical fight between them, though her subsequent attempt to force a handshake fails. Her hope is renewed upon witnessing other Justice Chōjin rallying to reconcile the duo.

In the Ultimate Chōjin Tag arc, Rinko stows away in Jade’s luggage aboard a time-ship to meet a younger Mari. Discovered by Scarface, she justifies her presence by expressing this goal and bonds with Jacqueline during the journey. When Kevin Mask begins disappearing, they join the New Generation via transport pods. Later, Rinko assists Mantaro in searching for a prophesied "Chōjin of Peace," leading them to Chaos Avenir. Initially, Rinko dismisses Chaos as an otaku and dislikes him despite his romantic interest. Under pressure to secure him as Mantaro’s tag partner, she reluctantly agrees to cosplay for him if he wins matches. Her perception shifts dramatically when she witnesses his growth and talent. She sustains a severe ankle injury from shattered War-Cube glass during his match but refuses hospitalization, prioritizing his morale. This act symbolizes her deepening emotional bond, which intensifies after Chaos’s death, plunging her into profound grief.
