Description
Grizzmon, also known as Gryzmon, serves as a supporting character in the film "Digimon Frontier: Revival of the Ancient Digimon!!" (alternatively titled "Island of Lost Digimon"). As a Beast Digimon commander within the Beast Digimon army on the Wandering Island, he operates under the leadership of Hippogriffomon, whom he follows with unwavering loyalty and deep respect.
He is the protective older brother of Bearmon, instructing him to stay safely inside during conflicts. Grizzmon vehemently opposes Bearmon's friendship with Kotemon, a Human Digimon and sibling to Dinohumon—commander of the opposing Human Digimon army—reflecting the factions' bitter divide.
Fierce, aggressive, and emotionally volatile, Grizzmon fervently believes Hippogriffomon's ideology: Human Digimon threaten their existence and must be eliminated to achieve peace and justice. This conviction drives his belligerence. He initiates attacks against Human Digimon forces, culminating in a physical clash with his rival, Dinohumon. Only the intervention of Takuya (Agunimon) and Koji (Garummon) halts their combat.
As war intensifies, Grizzmon recruits fighters for the Beast Digimon army, even attempting to enlist Koji due to his heritage as Ancient Garurumon's heir. When Koji criticizes the war and highlights Bearmon's desire for peace, Grizzmon reacts with fury, shoving Koji aside and charging into battle. During the fighting, his desperate calls for Hippogriffomon's aid force Hippogriffomon's hidden alter ego—Darcmon, leader of the Human Digimon—to Slide Evolve secretly, revealing her dual identity.
A pivotal revelation occurs: Junpei (Beetlemon) and Izumi (Kazemon) expose that both Hippogriffomon and Darcmon are disguises for Murmukusmon, who manipulated the conflict to revive the destructive Ornismon. Stunned by this betrayal, Grizzmon redirects his forces to aid the children against the true enemy. He commands his troops against Ornismon and witnesses Kotemon's sacrifice, enabling Ancient Greymon and Ancient Garurumon's return to defeat Ornismon.
Post-battle, Grizzmon reconciles with Dinohumon, acknowledging their shared victimhood under Murmukusmon's scheme. He apologizes to the children for his role in the war. This peace is symbolized in a new mural depicting Grizzmon alongside Dinohumon, Bearmon, the children, and the Baby Digimon.
