Description
Poppu Harukaze is Doremi Harukaze's younger sister. As a baby, she idolized Doremi, following her everywhere, but Doremi's jealousy over the attention Pop received led to her pushing Pop away, creating early resentment. This resulted in Pop initially treating Doremi with condescension and spite, frequently mocking her clumsiness and perceived failures while presenting herself as more responsible and mature. This behavior stemmed from Pop's feelings of inferiority, fueled by Doremi having many friends despite her struggles and their mother teaching Doremi piano while initially refusing Pop.

Physically resembling Doremi with light skin and round mulberry eyes (though Pop's have a red hue), Pop sports pink hair styled in wing-like pigtails, typically seen in her school uniform. Her color scheme reverses Doremi's, featuring pink hair with a red theme.

Pop accidentally discovers Doremi, Hazuki, and Aiko performing magic, purchasing Majorika from Maho-do. Following Majorika back to the shop and witnessing the others transformed, Pop is made the fourth witch apprentice to protect their secret. As the red witch apprentice, she shows greater initial competence in magic compared to Doremi, progressing faster in her exams, though her young age hinders her as she struggles to stay awake for nighttime tests. Her fairy partner is Fafa, her crystal ball a red clover. Her transformation phrase is "Pretty Witch Pop-cchi!" and her spell incantation "Pipitto Puritto Puritan Peperuto!".

Despite early maturity and popularity with peers and adults, Pop exhibits childlike traits, including an early curfew and bedtime that limit her magical activities. Charismatic and persuasive, she is respectful yet stands up against meanness. Over time, she reconciles with Doremi, learning to appreciate her sister's qualities, significantly strengthening their bond. Pop shares similarities with Doremi, like struggles with crafting and a tendency toward temperamental reactions.

Pop develops close bonds with others. She deeply admires Onpu Segawa, sacrificing her magic out of love when Onpu falls into a coma. With the magical baby Hana, Pop is initially eager to help care for her but later experiences moments of envy over Hana's rapid development as a witch apprentice. She respects Hazuki and Aiko, thanking Aiko for being Doremi's friend.

In the light novel continuity, Pop is in sixth grade, taught by Seki, and intends to attend Karen Girls Academy to become a professional pianist, reflecting her serious dedication.

In the movie "Ojamajo Doremi #", Pop discovers a cursed rose in the Witch Queen's garden. After an argument with Doremi, she wishes for Doremi to lose her magic and turn into a mouse, triggering magical chaos. The rose grants wishes based on intent: good wishes turn it white, bad wishes turn it black, requiring collective efforts to resolve.

Pop's instrument is the trumpet, though she plays the piano seriously. Her allowance is 200 yen, which she often saves. During production, the name "Doremi" was initially intended for Pop, but trademark issues led to the switch, resulting in the protagonist being named Doremi.
