Description
Sunekichi is a robotic parrot constructed at the Matsushiba Robot Factory in 2112, alongside Doraemon and other robotic caretakers. He attends the robot academy as Doraemon's classmate, frequently partnered with a robotic dog named Jaides. Together, they act as antagonistic figures within the academy, habitually mocking Doraemon for his manufacturing defects and perceived failures.

Their antagonism includes bullying attempts, such as demanding Doraemon's 4D pocket under claims he is unworthy of futuristic gadgets due to academic shortcomings. These confrontations often escalate into chases where Doraemon evades them, though Sunekichi and Jaides sometimes face retaliation from classmates like Dora-rinho.

During training and daily activities, Sunekichi consistently displays poor performance, failing weightlifting drills and basic quizzes. These academic shortcomings result in shared punishments with Jaides and Doraemon. His personality includes pronounced nervousness, particularly evident during the Robot Audition. Overwhelmed by stage fright before his performance, he pleads for Doraemon's help. Doraemon uses a gadget intended to calm him, but it inadvertently causes Sunekichi to fall asleep on stage.

Despite these flaws and their antagonistic dynamic, Sunekichi shows moments of camaraderie. He offers support to Doraemon before Doraemon's own audition and celebrates Doraemon's eventual adoption by Sewashi Nobi. Sunekichi's character design and role mirror Suneo Honekawa from the main series, with his dynamic alongside Jaides reflecting the Gian-Suneo relationship. His narrative exists solely within the academy confines depicted in the OVA.
