Description
Harabote Muscle chairs the Universal Chōjin Committee, governing all Chōjin activities universe-wide. Hailing from Planet Harabote, he shares a childhood-forged rivalry and enduring friendship with Mayumi Kinniku, whom he affectionately calls "Mayumi-chan." As a young Chōjin wrestler, he thwarted Mayumi’s bid for a third consecutive title by winning the 11th Chōjin Olympics, sporting long hair during that era.
Standing 165 cm tall with a round belly and stern countenance, he typically dons a cape and bears a head fin akin to Planet Kinniku natives. His wrestling arsenal features the Body Scissors (胴じめ, Dōjime), Killer Key Lock (殺人キー・ロック, Satsujin Kī Rokku), and Atomic Drop.
As Chairman, he officiates tournaments and provides commentary alongside Mayumi, yet commands scant respect among Chōjin. Though initially acknowledging Kinnikuman’s physical prowess, he grew frustrated by his perceived unprofessionalism, openly lamenting his tournament progress. This disdain extended to Kinnikuman’s son, Mantarō Kinniku, whom he disfavored for apparent laziness.
A pivotal childhood incident saw Harabote and Mayumi discover the imprisoned entity Nemesis in a forbidden zone. Nemesis implored Mayumi to forge a suffering-free future—a moment Harabote later revisited during Nemesis’s return.
In *Kinnikuman Nisei* (marketed internationally as *Ultimate Muscle*), his Committee standing waned due to age-related managerial decline. His animosity toward Mantarō intensified, a trait inherited by his son, Ikemen Muscle. During the HF First Year Replacement Matches, he orchestrated a "Generation Ex" versus "Team Aho" tournament, skewing rules to disadvantage Mantarō’s squad—permitting Dead Signal’s debris-weapon tactics despite objections.
Harabote fathered Ikemen Muscle and Jacqueline Muscle, sharing closer ties with Ikemen but greater respect for Jacqueline. He eventually ceded his Chairmanship to Ikemen, transitioning to a figurehead role while retaining Chōjin oversight.
English adaptations renamed him "Vance McMadd"—a Vince McMahon parody—and recast the organization as the Intergalactic Wrestling Federation (IWF). While the Kinniku family adopted "Muscle" as a surname, Harabote retained it without biological relation, clarified through this localization.
His leadership spanned titles like Chairman of the Intergalactic Chōjin Society and Chōjin Grappling Council. Against Mayumi, his win/loss record featured techniques such as the Figure 4 Leg Lock and Iron Claw. Later arcs showed him officiating during Omega Centauri’s Six Spears incursion and Babel Tower battles, coordinating matches with an assistant named Knock.
