Description
Takaaki Ōishi is the esteemed male gymnastics captain at his school, celebrated for his athletic prowess and dedicated mentorship of the rhythmic gymnastics team. He plays a pivotal role in guiding the protagonist through the rigors of competitive gymnastics, offering steady encouragement as she joins the team. His quiet charisma inadvertently sparks a romantic rivalry between the protagonist and Bazuki Shiina, a fellow elite gymnast drawn to him, intertwining their athletic ambitions with unresolved personal affections.

The protagonist’s growing admiration for Ōishi clashes with her deep-seated bond with Mao Natsukawa, her childhood friend and musical collaborator, whose unspoken feelings for her further strain the group’s dynamics. This emotional tug-of-war positions Ōishi and Natsukawa as contrasting anchors in her life, each representing different facets of trust and aspiration.

Ōishi’s influence permeates the team, fostering both collaboration and rivalry. His presence intensifies the shifting rapport between the protagonist and Shiina, transforming their initial competitive friction into a nuanced alliance. While the narrative remains centered on his stabilizing impact and role in the protagonist’s development, it leaves his personal history and the resolution of romantic entanglements unexplored, emphasizing instead his capacity to unite and challenge those around him.
