This hardship ended when a kind elderly woman took him in and taught him cooking, sparking his deep passion for culinary arts and honing his skills into expertise.

Throughout the series, Kurihei consistently uses his cooking to help others, reflecting his inherent kindness and gentle nature. He is an integral member of the core friend group, alongside peers like Miko and Taihei, and a dog named Buku.
