Description
Shahkti Kareen is an eleven-year-old illegal immigrant residing at Point Kasarelia on Earth in U.C. 0153. She forms a close bond with fellow immigrant Üso Ewin and takes responsibility for Karlmann, an infant orphaned during the Zanscare Empire's destruction of Uwig. Shahkti's personality centers on an earnest devotion to peace and a deeply caring nature, though she struggles to reconcile these traits with the brutal realities of war. This often leads her to directly confront Zanscare soldiers, attempting to reason with them, resulting in multiple captures despite interventions by the League Militaire.

To stay near Üso, she unofficially joins the League Militaire, assisting with support duties like food distribution while prioritizing Karlmann's care. During an early Zanscare encounter, Chronicle Asher identifies her as an illegal immigrant but fails to recognize her as his niece. Her true heritage emerges upon another capture: she is the daughter of Queen Maria Pure Armonia and Chronicle's niece. Shahkti defies Maria's reconciliation attempts, insisting on returning to the League Militaire.

Her persistent idealism drives her actions during Operation Giant Roller; captured and rescued once more, she deliberately flees back to a Motorad Squadron ship, hoping to dissuade Zanscare from their plans. This choice inadvertently contributes to the death of Üso's mother, Myra Miggelle. Later, following Maria's death, Zanscare leaders Fonse Kagatie and Mutterma Zugan plan to exploit Shahkti to activate the Angel Halo's global pacification system. Though rescued again, she voluntarily returns to them. At the Angel Halo's core, she sabotages the plan by contacting psychickers, triggering the structure's collapse.

After the war, Shahkti returns to Point Kasarelia alongside Üso, Karlmann, Marbet Fingerhat, and other child survivors. In the series' conclusion, she encounters the blind and amnesiac Katejina Loos searching for Uwig and provides her with directions. Her name, Shahkti Kareen, originates from Sanskrit ("Shahkti" meaning "energy/ability") and Hindi ("Kareen" meaning "innocent"), suggesting possible Indian descent.
