Yumi Kuroda

Yumi Kuroda is the former stage name of Japanese voice actor Yumi Ichihara. Born on June 27, 1966, in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, she began her career in the early 1990s under the name Yumi Kuroda before later changing her stage name to Yumi Ichihara. Her debut role was as Shahkti Kareen in the 1993 television series Mobile Suit Victory Gundam, a performance that also led to her contribution of the theme song Hinageshi no Tabi no Mukou ni for the series.

Throughout the 1990s, she was active in various anime productions, often in supporting roles. Her notable performances from this period include the lead role of Milfa in the 1995 original video animation Elven Bride, for which she also performed the ending theme song Zutto ne. She voiced Keyne Acqua in the 1997 OVA series Photon: The Idiot Adventures. Other roles from this decade include Koharu in the 1994 Studio Ghibli film Pom Poko, Ryouko Morikawa in the Kyō kara Ore wa!! OVA series, and various guest roles in television series such as Akachan to Boku, CLAMP School Detectives, and Mobile Suit Gundam Wing.

Her career extended into the 2000s with roles such as Aruto in Kokoro Library and its special, Satsuki in an episode of Inuyasha, and Hiroko Gotō in Akachan to Boku. She was affiliated with the Tokyo Actor‘s Consumer‘s Cooperative Society, also known as Haikyō, as of 2009. Her body of work demonstrates a career focused primarily on character roles in anime television series, OVAs, and films throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.
