TV-Series
Description
Professor Curio is an elderly Cappy archaeologist, paleontologist, and historian residing in Cappy Town. He operates a chronically underfunded antique collection serving as both shop and personal museum, attracting scant public interest. This financial strain sometimes leads him to compromise ethics, like accepting King Dedede's bribes to forge archaeological proofs supporting the Dedede clan's royal claims. Yet, he typically prioritizes truth and integrity, confessing publicly to forgeries despite the fallout.

Physically pear-shaped with yellowish-peach skin, he wears a dark olive overcoat and orange bow tie. Distinguishing features include a bushy gray mustache covering his mouth, thick gray eyebrows, and a ring of short spiky hair encircling his bald scalp. Unmarried and socially awkward, he leads a solitary life, often speaking encyclopedically or stammering when uncomfortable. He maintains a tutor-pupil relationship with Tiff, who admires his knowledge and assists during crises. His museum relics frequently fall victim to vandalism or calamities, requiring constant reconstruction.

Key episodes highlight his development. In "Curio's Curious Discovery," financial desperation drives him to plant fake Dedede artifacts; Tiff's intervention and his own guilt lead him to expose the scheme during its exhibition. He later aids Kirby against Dedede Stone by chipping fragments, enabling Kirby to gain the Stone ability. Afterward, he refuses to dig King Dedede and Escargoon from rubble, declaring an end to excavating "fakes." In "Mumbies Madness," King Dedede tricks him into harboring Mumbies. Realizing the danger, he attempts a sealing ritual, though misunderstandings with Tiff and Tuff allow its escape; he later assists in its defeat.

Throughout the series, he provides academic exposition, explaining Dyna Blade's century-long egg-laying cycle and identifying species like Kine. His expertise extends to ninja lore, inadvertently sparking a town-wide craze after a scroll theft from his collection. In the finale, he repairs the Monster Delivery System in Castle Dedede, ensuring the Halberd crew's safe return.
