Description
A 15-year-old orphan raised by her flower shop-owning grandparents in the French countryside, she inherits a celestial legacy through her mother—a descendant of the Flower Star’s plant spirits—and her boat-captain father, both deceased. Chosen by emissaries from the Flower Star, a talking dog and cat, she embarks on a quest to find the Seven-Colored Flower needed to crown their realm’s ruler. Armed with a magical pin from the Flower Star’s king, she transforms into mission-specific attire, gaining skills like mountaineering or equestrianism. When the pin shatters, a royal crest-shaped replacement binds her fate: its loss or destruction severs her Earthly life and bars her return to the Flower Star.
Traveling across continents, she aids strangers in personal crises, guided by a mysterious photographer who gifts flower seeds symbolizing each resolved struggle. These seeds, mailed to her grandparents, bloom into the Seven-Colored Flower in their garden. The photographer is revealed as the Flower Star’s prince, who offers marriage. She initially refuses to stay with her grandparents but accepts after he relinquishes his throne to remain on Earth.
In a Japan-set OVA, she combats environmental dangers endangering cherry blossoms, reinforcing conservation themes. Her resilience shines through perilous trials—narrow escapes from fatal falls, clashes with hostile foes—while her moral compass steers her to reject parental neglect and adopt cross-dressing disguises when necessary. Despite episodic hardships, her unyielding kindness and determination anchor the narrative, ensuring the Flower Star’s legacy endures through humanity’s collective compassion.
