Description
Togenishia is an ambitious sorceress determined to steal the magical Seven Color Flower and seize control of the Flower Star. Her name originates from "toge," signifying thorn, which mirrors her antagonistic disposition. She commands a loyal raccoon-like servant, Yabouki—alternatively named Boris in certain dubs—whom she entices with promises of nobility for unwavering obedience.
Her core magical prowess manifests through conjuring potent winds, particularly the destructive "Dark Wind," deployed to hinder protagonists or further her schemes. However, excessive spellcasting depletes her life force, triggering rapid aging and physical decay. This vulnerability fuels her vanity and reluctance to wield magic unless absolutely necessary.
Throughout the series, she relentlessly pursues protagonists across Europe, devising plots to sabotage their quest. These efforts consistently collapse due to Yabouki’s bumbling ineptitude or interventions by allies such as Serge. Even when forced to rely on protagonists for rescue, she never offers gratitude, remaining singularly obsessed with claiming the flower.
In the theatrical short *Hello Cherry Country*, she targets Japan’s cherry trees, attempting to strip them of blossoms in an act emblematic of environmental disregard. This scheme is foiled by Lunlun and her companions.
Togenishia undergoes no significant development or redemption within the core series and film. Her presence or evolution in spin-offs, OVAs, or the upcoming remake remains undocumented.
