Description
Dortin, a dwarf and younger brother of Volkan, forms half of a comedic duo notorious for ill-conceived schemes. Exiled from their homeland, the pair chase opportunistic ventures for profit, though their plans inevitably collapse under Volkan’s impulsivity and Dortin’s habitually dismissed cautiousness.

Dortin’s mild-mannered, scholarly demeanor starkly contrasts his brother’s brashness. Clad in large round glasses that amplify his geekish charm, he reluctantly follows Volkan’s chaotic lead, offering pragmatic advice that rarely finds an audience. Despite his reservations, Dortin exhibits steadfast loyalty, pleading for aid when Volkan suffers life-threatening mishaps like mushroom poisoning or refusing to desert imperiled allies against his brother’s orders.

The brothers first cross paths with Orphen during a botched marriage fraud targeting the Everlasting family, sparking recurring clashes where their antics disrupt his goals. Later employed by Cleao Everlasting, they perform menial tasks at her family’s inn while persisting in half-baked moneymaking plots. Their dynamic cements them as comic foils: Dortin scrambles to temper Volkan’s recklessness, only for both to meet chaotic ends—often via Orphen’s magical reprisals.

In later conflicts, Dortin’s loyalty transcends family obligation. He defies Volkan to assist allies during crises, revealing flashes of assertiveness and empathy that hint at hidden depths beneath his comedic exterior. Though their roles remain peripheral, their involvement in events like the Kimluck crisis sees them aiding figures such as Azalie, even as their influence on core narratives stays minimal.

The light novels delve deeper into Dortin’s efforts to counterbalance his brother’s rashness amid their string of misfortunes. While their schemes never yield lasting success, Dortin’s unyielding dedication to Volkan and sporadic acts of courage underscore a quiet resilience, anchoring their farcical exploits in moments of unexpected humanity.
